I love getting to know all about my students, so it seems right that I let you get to know a bit about me, too! I grew up in New York but have lived in Massachusetts for many years. I have three children and one funny dog. There are many things I love to do; learning and laughing are high on that list.
Drawing and many forms of artwork have been a love of mine since I was a child. Being in nature is a joy for me, too, so I fit that into my life from gardening to environmental protection to hiking. My dog gives me an extra reason to get outside and get exercise. I also enjoy reading very, very much! Getting together with family and friends is important to me. I have the most wonderful family and friends all over the country, and I am very grateful for them. I love adding new friends to my life, as well. Students, please keep telling me about you. Your news and plans and thoughts are always things I care about!
Mrs. Christine Brouillard
When Mrs. Brouillard built forts in the woods as a child, her friends always knew there would be work to do - school work, that is! With a chalkboard propped against a tree and fluffy fern "chairs" arranged in a circle, playing school was just the beginning of Mrs. Brouillard's love of education. After becoming a certified teacher and rehabilitation counselor, Mrs. Brouillard found school counseling to be the perfect blend of teaching and counseling. Working with Mill Pond students and families as they traverse the developmentally dynamic span of grades four through six makes each day an exciting adventure! Outside of school, Mrs. Brouillard spends most of her time cheering on her two daughters as they play a variety of sports and participate in many activities. Thankfully, as she spends lots of time driving her girls here, there and everywhere, Mrs. Brouillard enjoys listening to audio books and visiting new and interesting places throughout New England. Her favorite activities include camping, visiting the ocean and the mountains, attempting DIY projects and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. David Cohen
Mr. Cohen has been working with children and families since 1992 and is a social worker. He has worked in a variety of settings including long and short term residential treatment, individual/family therapy, juvenile court, and as an activity based social skills counselor. Mr. Cohen has been working in schools since 2007 and has been a school counselor at Mill Pond School since 2010. He is very invested in collaborating with children, their parents, and teachers so that each child can achieve academic, social, and emotional success.
When not at school, Mr. Cohen is often watching his children's extracurricular activities or participating as an adult leader in his son's boy scout troop. He enjoys cooking, telling puns, camping, hiking, and graphic design, Mr. Cohen hopes to some day master playing the guitar and to learn to play the Xbox One without losing to his sons. He does have mad Atari 2600 skills! He also has a very large collection of various hats that he enjoys wearing in school.
